Juulia Kalavainen

One of our Film Tutor's, Juulia develops young people and adult learners on our Through the Lens programme, and young people on our BFI Film Academy and Foundation Apprenticeship programmes. Originally from Finland, she graduated with an BA in Cinematography and Editing from the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki. Juulia went on to get an MA in Film Directing from the KinoEyes European Film Masters programme working in Edinburgh, Tallinn and Lisbon.

BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme

The BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme has courses for 16- to 19-year-olds taking place in Edinburgh at Screen Education Edinburgh, in Ayrshire at Ayrshire Film Co, in the Scottish Highlands at Eden Court Highlands, in Glasgow at GMAC, and in Aberdeen at Station House Media Unit.
BFI Film Academy Specialist Residential: Production Management

SEE was originally known as Pilton Video, which was founded in 1981 to work exclusively in North Edinburgh to develop people, support the work of local organisations, and be at the heart of community development through film education and production.
