News BFI Film Academy Short Course wraps productions The BFI Film Academy Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland Short Course has been continuing with weekend sessions here at SEE. Learners recently finished shooting their short films:'Dear Dad' centres around the strained relationship between a father, who has been incarcerated for the past decade, and his daughter, who he refused visits and letters from during his sentence. Once released, he realises he needs to make amends, but is it already too late?'Demons' is about a young woman tormented by visions of a demonic figure that follows her everywhere. When her mother reveals she has experienced the same entity and knows how to get rid of it, will she finally be free?'Scavengers' follows a young woman living isolated in a forest. When she spots a lone hiker, she attacks him out of fear, but the pair soon bond in a way they hadn't anticipated.Learners are now editing their films as part of the post-production stage. Once finished, they will be able to enjoy a Christmas themed last session, including a cinema trip to celebrate all their hard work! In January, they will all come back together for a special screening of the films. The BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme 2024-25 is delivered by a consortium of organisations working together to develop young people aged 16 to 19 across the Nation, with courses delivered in Edinburgh here at Screen Education Edinburgh, and at partner orgs in Ayrshire at Ayrshire Film Co, in the Scottish Highlands at Eden Court Highlands, in Glasgow at GMAC Film, and in Aberdeen at Station House Media Unit.
