Film and TV Edinburgh Schools Inspire Sessions return

We are delighted to be delivering the Film and TV Edinburgh Schools Inspire Sessions for the 3rd year running. The programme, funded by Film Edinburgh, offers free industry focused workshops to S1 to S6 High School pupils across Edinburgh.

Film and TV professionals, based in the city, will be supported by SEE to deliver a mix of practical and creative workshops relevant to their job role, giving pupils an insight into careers in the industry. Workshops will also inform pupils about courses, traineeships, and career pathways in Film and TV.

BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme

The BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme has courses for 16- to 19-year-olds taking place in Edinburgh at Screen Education Edinburgh, in Ayrshire at Ayrshire Film Co, in the Scottish Highlands at Eden Court Highlands, in Glasgow at GMAC, and in Aberdeen at Station House Media Unit.
BFI Film Academy Specialist Residential: Production Management

Our BFI Production Management Course is an intensive, hands-on opportunity for aspiring film professionals aged 16 to 19 from across the UK.

The SEE Young Filmmakers Hub is aimed at young people aged 12-18 living in Edinburgh, providing them with an opportunity to learn the art of filmmaking, regardless of their circumstances.

SEE was originally known as Pilton Video, which was founded in 1981 to work exclusively in North Edinburgh to develop people, support the work of local organisations, and be at the heart of community development through film education and production.

Edinburgh & Lothians Schools Film Competition is a celebration of short film made by local children and young people. Free to enter for all City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian and Midlothian nursery, primary, secondary and special schools.
