SEE alumni attend Warner Bros CrewHQ 'The Franchise' screening and careers day

This month, Warner Brothers CrewHQ invited two of our BFI Film Academy alumni from Edinburgh, Lauren Hunter-Venables and Lola Drybrough, to Warner Bros studios in Leavesden for an exclusive screening of the new TV show 'The Franchise', created and directed by Sam Mendes, Armando Iannucci and Jon Brown.

Our learners were able to attend insightful workshops and talks from industry professionals who worked on 'The Franchise'. The first two episodes were screened at the event, ahead of their UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival the following night. The series will be available in the UK from 21 October.

Thank you to Warner Bros studios and the team at CrewHQ for organising and hosting the event, and ensuring our youngsters took part via free travel and accommodation.

The BFI Film Academy Scotland Short Course Programme has courses for 16- to 19-year-olds taking place in Edinburgh at Screen Education Edinburgh, in Ayrshire at Ayrshire Film Co, in the Scottish Highlands at Eden Court Highlands, in Glasgow at GMAC, and in Aberdeen at Station House Media Unit.
BFI Film Academy Specialist Residential: Production Management

Our BFI Production Management Course is an intensive, hands-on opportunity for aspiring film professionals aged 16 to 19 from across the UK.

SEE was originally known as Pilton Video, which was founded in 1981 to work exclusively in North Edinburgh to develop people, support the work of local organisations, and be at the heart of community development through film education and production.

Edinburgh & Lothians Schools Film Competition is a celebration of short film made by local children and young people. Free to enter for all City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian and Midlothian nursery, primary, secondary and special schools.
