Our Through the Lens North Edinburgh and Leith adult project are nearing the end of their editing period on their film 'Videology', which will mark the close of an exciting production period for our learners!

The year began with a series of pre-production workshops, followed by an intensive shoot period in January, with the group then focusing on post-production, with the film now picture locked and sound design currently underway.

'Videology' tells the story of a deaf person volunteering at his local community centre for the first time. When his hearing aids fail on the way there (and no one around him realises he is deaf) communication challenges quickly emerge.

The project aims to highlight a common misconception: that hearing aids “fix” hearing completely. Instead, the film encourages audiences to consider how accessibility and inclusive communication can be improved for everyone.

We want to congratulate our learners on all their hard work throughout the Through the Lens North Edinburgh and Leith project. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved, and can’t wait to see their film's premiere on the big screen at North Edinburgh Film Festival 2026, on the evening of Friday 27th March at North Edinburgh Arts!
