News Through The Lens adult education programme finish filming their final projects Learners on our Through The Lens adult education programme, which provides filmmaking opportunities to people living in SIMD 1-4 communities in Edinburgh, have been filming their final short films.The Southwest Edinburgh group, based at WHALE Arts, filmed their short 'Last Rite' in Polwarth Church. The film follows a socially anxious church caretaker, Tom, over his first few days on the job. When Tom begins to have vivid nightmares, he grows suspicious of the church and the people that work there.The Southeast Edinburgh group, based at Craigmillar Library, filmed their short '1 in 10', which tells the powerful story of a young woman with (undiagnosed) endometriosis who finds solace in a support group of women with the same condition, after years of being unheard and misunderstood.Learners from both groups are now onto the editing stage of their productions, and we can't wait to see how the films turn out!
