Two films from our BFI Film Academy Short Course and Young Filmmakers Hub have been selected as finalists at the West Lothian Film Festival!

'To Be a Woman', created during the 2023 BFI Film Academy Edinburgh Short Course, focuses on two friends who confide in each other about their identities as women after one of them is sexually assaulted.

'Roses', made by the 16-18 year olds of this year's Young Filmmakers Hub, follows a young woman who becomes obsessed with finding the secret admirer that left a boquet of roses on her doorstep.

We're incredibly grateful to West Lothian Film Festival for selecting these films! We'd also like to thank our funders and partners that made these films possible: The City of Edinburgh Council, The BFI, The Sean Connery Foundation, and Screen Scotland.
